My BFGs hooked better then my Nittos, and even though they didn't last as long I liked them a lot. Car was a daily driver street car, and I got a little over 4k out of them.

I plan on running ET streets on the new build though - they are supposed to be the **** as far as DRs go .

Overall that's a good idea.

But have you considered this? What about buying a good set of z-rated summer tires for the street and still run the MT's at the track?

When I first bought my C5Z wheels they had Goodyear EagleF1SuperCar tires on them, and even though they didn't have a lot of tread left on them when I get them, they hooked nearly as well as my BFG DR's do now and get excellent wet traction.

I was cutting high 1.9 60' with the Goodyears and was able to drive the car comfortably in hard rain. They're more expensive than DR's, but I just thought I'd put that out there.

MTs Drs are the probubly the best IMO for traction but they dont last long on the street. Nittos bite half decent and last about twice as long on the street. It just depends how much you drive your car on the street or how much cash you like to spend on tires.

i drive it pretty often actually almost everyday during the nice months...mainly because i own a landscaping business and im always in a boring *** truck. haha once im done with work and wanna go somewhere i take my car..unless its wet/raining. i dont mind spending the money on tirees to be honest. id hate to by a set of mt's and not even get a whole summer out of them ya know what i mean so ill just put em on a spare set of wheels and throw em on before i go to the track. island dragway is only 25 minutes from my house so itll be fine.

If you mention drag radials and rain in the same sentence, you are a bonehead.

On another topic, Island FTW. Raceway park is overrun with *******.

My car in sig ran 12.5's on shitty street tires spinning...put the toyos on yesterday and went for alittle cruise, the car dead hooks now. Definately night and day difference. Not to mention they are affordable!!!173.00 a tire from tiresdirect.com

Depends on the tread condition. I can see that happening to a DR that has quite a few miles on it, but if the tread is in good condition both Nittos and BFG's are fine in an average/wet road/not monsoon conditions.

I was just saying that in reference to most other tires. I can drive the BFGs on wet pavement and light rain with no problems.

But I had gotten stuck with them once or twice in decent rain, and even when they were brand new they sucked pretty hard. Same thing with the Hoosier Quicktimes, those might have even been worse in the rain than the BFGs.

One the other had, my old Goodyear EagleF1Supercars (not drag radials), were damn near as sticky as the BFGs and were fantastic in the rain, too.
