Default Buy it back?

Well those who know me know that a few months ago I sold my Formula...At the time it was the right thing to do. Now, going through a divorce, I'm rethinking my decision. As luck would have it the car is up for sale again and I can buy it back what what I sold it for. Its now got an RPM level V trans, a new Vig 4400, and a new trans cooler with a fan and thermostat. I think I should try to get it back home again...I'm also trying to buy a house and my soon to be ex is supposed to buy me out of the house we own together...Obviously the house buying comes first...Any thoughts on what to do? The car hasn't seen any street miles and has 20 more passes on it now. Did get a new best 60' of 1.48 and 122 mph trap...still the same 11.20ish ET...

Very sorry to hear about the divorce, last we spoke it seemed like the best but i know circumstances prevail. The car being available at the same time would mean destiny.....
I say go for it, enjoy life with your 8 cyl. gal...... There are plenty other females out there, welcome home bro.....

Buy it back for sure - as much as the circumstances suck, its too big of an opportunity to pass up.

People who sell their cars don't usually ever get a chance to buy them back.

Yeah, the fact that I know who bought it, know who did the mods to it, as its the shop I use and trust, and that the price is right, it's a good deal. It's just a money issue now I guess. I don't have the funds in cash and don't want to get a loan for anything while I'm trying to buy the new house. We'll see how the buy out goes with the ex before I make any final decisions. Its definitely a bad *** car that should come back home...My daughters and our new house obviously come first, but I'd love to get the car back with a vanity plate of IM BACK or ITSBACK or something like that...

Just remember, you are asking a bunch of people on a car forum who spend more time with and more money on their cars then most people do in a year.

I deffinetly say get your baby back, and no, not the wife.

House > Car

The only reason I'd encourage you to buy it back is if you plan on doing anything else with it other than driving it. Mods etc. If not, look for something else or you'll be in the same place you where a few months back. It's a nice nice car, yes. But, a car sitting with a $15k price tag is overrated.

Well the price is a decent one and its what I sold it for before it was modded with a new trans, converter, and trans cooler. If I buy it back its going on a weight loss plan of a Spohn K member, A arms, manual rack, and racing seats...I'm thinking I can drop almost 200lbs off of the thing while still keeping the A/C and heat. Obviously the house comes first. The other fly in the ointment is the ol man's LPE383 2003 Corvette. For now, it's not for sale, but that could be very interesting. Adding a bigger cam, rear gear, and converter would put the 'vette into the 10s while still being able to turn corners...It ran 11.50s at 120 a few years back with the lil LPE 207/220 cam, 3.42s, and a Yank 2800...mmmmmmm...However, it'll probably cost a bit more than my old car...Even with the loving son discount...

Lol...I have some unfinished business with the old bird...If I could drop a few pounds and get it down to your car's weight I think I'd have something pretty wicked while retaining the weenie sized cam...And I've done some serious soul searching since my wife and I split and I think I sold the car for the wrong reasons trying to save a doomed marriage. The car and the hobby are a big part of who I am and what I like to do. If I can swing it I'll try to get it back. If not then it really wasn't meant to be...I changed a lot of who I was for the wrong reasons..I've found myself again and I really like who I am now and was before marriage...I'm back and it feels good!!

As bad as it sounds, I hope I never have to end up with a decision like that. But it sounds like your happy with the way things are working out now.

well said. sometimes it takes a huge wake up call to jolt you back to reality. get the car back when you can and later on you will find someone to enjoy it with you. enjoy your freedom
