I agree!!

My first brand new car was a '71 Chevelle SS454. I had it 2 years, and got a little tired of it, due to the lack of power steering, and a clutch that took two men and a boy to push in. (I bought it "off the lot", and didn't think the manual steering was a big deal at first) One day, in frustration, I traded it off for something else, but someone who I worked with, wound up buying it from the dealer I traded it in to.

The second owner kept it for a couple of years, put 3-4 thousand miles on it, but was getting married and needed something a little less costly to drive. He decided to sell it, but didn't tell me first! I found out about his plans about a week later, and offered him more money than his potential buyer, but he kept his word to the first guy, and the car got away.......

To further add, those who sell their car usually end up regretting it. If you have the space for it and even if you only look at it once in awhile it's worth keeping IMO.

Bring that sucker home! If nothing else, put a down payment on it, so he'll hold it for you, until you get a house again.

Yeah I 'm trying to work the finances out. He's put it out there to others but gets low ball offers like he and I thought he would. The economy just sucks and as all of us know the market has fallen out of these cars especially the LT platform. So I don't think its going anywhere to anyone else anytime soon. And the owner said he'd hold it for me for a week or so anyway which is very cool. The bottom line is that the car is very special to me and signifies lots in my life. Selling it was a mistake, but kind of necessary at the time. The only money I took from the marriage was from the sale of the car so the girls and I are able to have a decent start. If the house deal pans out and my settlement is decent then this could become a reality. We'll see what happens.

I wish you the best of luck, whether or not you are able to get the car back.

Thanks! I made a series of questionable decisions over the last 3 years which unfortunately affected my two girls. I'm in a much better place now and can focus on what I should've focused on 3 years ago. I rushed into something that I thought was special, but was only a mirage. Thankfully, its over now and not later. It's funny how much I fought to save the marriage and I think I even begged her to keep us together. What a fool I was to try to force someone to have feelings for me that clearly were gone. Anyway, I learned a lot about myself that I already knew...I ain't changing for no one! period! And I think having the car back is a good start to my healing and having fun again...These cars and this hobby have always been therapy for me. And I consider the folks on this forum part of my extended family...
