Buy some wire, splice out the damage, solder and heatshrink.

Depends on the damage and to which wires. But like Rob mentioned that's the best route if it isn't completely toasted.

I'll add: Buy some good wire, the crap they sell in auto parts stores is exactly that. Better off buying an old harness off any car or truck and cutting out the wire you need. Factory wire is much more flexible and tends to have better insulation. Soldering is the best way to connect the wires but be careful with the heat shrink. It needs to be long enough to keep the wires from flexing near the joint or the wires will break. The solder makes the joint rigid. Use a quality soldering iron, like a Weller. Cheap irons are good if you are very good at soldering, otherwise they are only good for wood burning.

thanks guys i didnt even think of that. i just took a quick glance at it and it look like it was just in one spot. it caught fire on the passenger side. i think it was the harness that the passenger injectors are on. ill try that though its a great idea.
thanks derreck

Not sure about now, but back in 2000 I replaced the engine harness on my 96 and it was roughly 300 from the dealer, However I tried to get one for a 2000 Monte Carlo that came in the shop today and it had already been discontinued. Junkyard had one for this car for 150 bucks.
