Default distributor or coil?

i've got a terrible miss, but it's only part of the time. it will run fine most of the time and then every now and then it will just start acting like its not getting fire... it just runs really rough and gets jumpy and then it will all the sudden kick in. i heard if moisture gets in the distributor it will act like this? idk ya'll tell me!

^ This. Check the codes. Sounds like it's possible that you've got a wire contacting a header/manifold, or the opti encoder could be going wacky. Start with the basics and go from there.
