i have blown up tons of stuff over the years, but there comes a point in witch a very inportant part of the engine fails due to improper manufacturing ect. i understand not every part is perfect that's impossible. but a company should stand behind there product if you follow the instructions and do what they recommend for installation. if the impeller falls off in 2 months there is a big issue, now there is a possibility metal fragments could now be in the block.

A company should be liable for there part causing damage. If installed correctly bottom line. a 250 part taking out a 4000+ engine is not a funny situation at all

Especially with an electric water pump, if you don't see that your temps are skyrocketing and you chose not to wire in a warning buzzer and continue to run the car then it's your own damn fault.

OP - that's not directed at you, by the way.

We went through 3 CSR's on the race car before switching to a Meizer. We have not had a problem with the Meizer in 4 years since we bought it.

Had my CSR for 7 years, 3 of which spent untouched under a tree. Still works like a champ.

OEM WP, electric either way the driver should be monitoring the temp gauge and take action if temps rise to critical mass.

a warning light or buzzer could be rigged. that would show if power failed. If the fuse did not blow yet but pump stoped...the circuit would still see it as working and not alarm the driver.

again the eye on temp gauge is more critical than anything in watching wtf is going on.

I have not needed service on my Meziere in 12 years but I have heard they will rebuild it for $50 if you send it to them. They come with a 2 year unlimited milage warrenty

published lifespan is 3000+ hrs..

Back on topic, the impeller somehow began to contact the inside of the water pump housing and that was causing the fuse to blow. I trimmed the fins on the impeller and it works fine now.

glad you figured it out, rather than just threw money at the problem which seems to be the norm around here.
