Default looking for header advice

What is a good choice of headers for my lt1? Looking for stainless and id like to remove my cat and run into my borla catback. Thanks. Good fitting would be nice since I don't have much experience with these.

Kooks are on of the best but you are paying the price for them. Many have used Pacesetters and are happy. I currently have Hooker headers and their y-pipe and am pleased with them. It can come down to how much you want to pay for headers and a y-pipe.

Does hooker have a y pipe that bypasses the cat?

The off road y pipe removes the cat from the whole system essentially. It no longer physically exists in the exhaust.

If your wondering about the ebay headers, here's my experiance with them. out of the box they look like they should be in a museum. once you start bolting them up the issues and reason's they are cheap appear. I think the beating on them with a hammer has not been stressed enough. Mine had major clearance issues. driver side k-member needed to be colapsed 3/8s to 1/2 inch, steering knuckle3/8 the major problem was the pass side hitting the kmember and the frame. Frame issues were not realized untill a few hours of driving... so i had to pull them again which i really really hated. after the fact, I would buy them again. going from mid-tube pacesetters to these 1 7/8's i can say it a HUGE difference in performance for my setup. good luck

I think Im going to just go with some Kooks and call it good. A bit expensive, but I really hate forcing things to fit and having to redo it later.

I've got nothing but good things to say about my arizona speed and marine mids. Granted their mids but the fitment and such was awesome. Had to shave the steering shaft just a bit but the y was perfect and right into the borla catback with no cat.

I have Hooker supercomps and they are great. I bought a used y pipe though that was hacked up and it was junk. But that's nothing to do with the headers.

I haven't had any issues with my Hooker headers either. I think they are pretty good.
