Could always freshen it up and go forged rods and pistons with the stock crank. Would give you a lot more peace of mind without breaking the bank.
It will be a mighty task hitting 450 for an lt1 on motor, no?

i would definitely not go boost if you have money in mind. a kit will run ~2500 plus ur gonna have to build the bottom end. i have run enough bottles thru lt1s to know these bottom ends dont mind nitrous. never had any problems besides a head gasket giving up. just make sure your tune is ok. easy 450rwhp.
Does the original poster realize that this kind of power used even halfassed will need a rollbar?
There is a guy in NJ who was looking to sell a I think 455rwhp car that is just what you are asking for, has run 10.8. Would be much cheaper than trying to build.
