Default 97 trans am with a 95 computer

i put a new knock sensor in the car for a 97, now it sets the esc light for the knock sensor, i got the tune from ion soltan but he is on vacation and wont be back for 2 weeks. so i dont know if i need a 95 knock sensor or if the 97 sensor is right. but i have a cruise to go on with it in 2 days and i need to get it fixed, i am wondering if there is anyway to use a resister to make it appear that it doesnt have knock until i get back. right now it is pulling a full 8 degrees.

to use a 95 computer with a 97 knock sensor you need to open up the computer and on the circuit board solder pins 21 and 22 together on the blue connector and solder a 3900 ohm 1/4 watt resistor between pinn 22 and pin 1(ground). not sure why pins 21 and 22 need to be connected because 21 is unused but thats what i was told and it works.....

With a 95 computer you will need the OBD-I sensor (93-95) or do a computer modification.
