Default Wipers going when they are off! Odd problem...

So recently my LT1 camaro has been doing something strange.

Wipers are off, for sure.

Start the car, and 15 seconds later the wipers make one pass over the windshield. Sometimes it'll do this up to 3 times. After driving for a few minutes, it doesn't do it anymore. If you park it, then start it up again, itll do the same thing.

You can drive it for 30+ mins and it'll only do it in the beginning after start-up as described.

WTF?

Only thing I can think of is a short in the intermittent selector that is causing this.

I can't imagine I'm the only one experiencing this.

Anyone else had this prob?

I just finished my fuel pump install so I haven't drove the car in weeks (2-3).

Now they are going crazy. Almosts non-stop. But they sink down in the cowl (like when you turn them off), then start up again, they have a mind of thier own!

Not sure why the problem got worse while sitting. Random.

My 1984 MCSS has a problem with them..they will go constantly. I had to put a switch on the ground wire. Just got old I guess..

Did you ever try to change out the wiper selection stick on the steering column?

Just wondering if you did and it didn't fix the problem.

Yup..changed that and checked all the wiring. It's in the Wiper Motor..they are setup to drop below the Hood when you turn them off..something inside is corroded or wore out.

Are you sure the module is separate from the wiper motor? I heard some of them are internal built into the motor.

SPDEMON, I'm a little confused. You say your LT1 Camaro has this issue but your sig shows a T/A, a 91 and a 2000 which would be a LS1 car.

Are the problem wipers in the 91 Camaro?

I'd say the motor is intermittently losing it's "I'm parked" signal so it does a full sweep to re-park.

In the fourth gen cars, the control board is in the wiper motor. I'd just replace the motor. They look to be around a hundred bucks.

Sorry, haven't updated my sig in a while.

New car I added to the stable - 1995 Camaro Z-28.

And yeah, you are correct, the circuit board is internal- got a new motor coming in tommorow.

I'll let you guys know how it goes after the swap. Thanks for the help everyone.
