as far as I know, that is the only thing that had a 7.5 gov lock, came in the 4wd trucks and the bravada's, the zr2's all had the 8.5 with the gov lock.

The diff in this vid bares a striking resemblance to the one the posted put up pics of.
Notice this is a G80 LOCKER this is not a posi and is not a detroit locker.

A Detroit is much simpler, stronger but by most accounts not as nice to drive on the street.

The gov-loc was used in trucks because their wheelspin is likely to be offroad, snow/mud/sand and the differential being able to "lock" both sides together makes sense under those conditions. There is a reason the cars got Auburn clutch posis or Torsen gear style posis instead, because for pavement use they are far better designs.

My truck has a gov-loc in it an it sucks. First time I tried to leave an intersection with one tire on ice the other on pavement it felt almost like I got bumped by another car from behind when it engaged.
