OBD2 back to OBD1 swap
OBD2 back to OBD1 swap My car (94 LT1 camaro) has an OBD1 harness and computer. It was crashed and now I'm planning on getting a roller. If the roller has an OBD2 (96-97 LT1) harness what do i need to do to get it to work with my OBD1 pcm?
I'm trying to avoid rewiring the car, getting a new computer, and new tuning software.

I have an OBD2 (97) car, and an OBD1 PCM from MadTuner. As far as I know, the harness is compatible, since I obviously have a 96-97 harness.
I believe the only relevant difference is the knock sensor. Evidently you have to use an OBD1 knock sensor or have the PCM modified to accept the OBD2 knock sensor. I didn't have to change this since my OBD1 PCM is converted to be plug-n-play.

Use whichever harness you want, put a new knock sensor in the block for a 94 obd1 or your existing obd 1 knock sensor and use your obd 1 computer. If you use the obd1 harness, the newer coil and icm have a different plug. Make sure to use the correct opti pigtail for which ever opti you are using. My car, my sons car and my wifes car are all obd1 converted.

so the only thing my mech needs to do is put the 94 knock sensor in the block and use my obd1 pcm. are the wires for the knock sensor there or does he have to use the wires from existing crank sensor? I have a 96 roller trans am ws-6 with a 94 z28 lt1 stroker.

I have a 97 WS6 and a OBD 1 computer , I just plugged it in and tunned out the knock sensor and disabled associated alarms. If you want a knock sensor then get an OBD 1 knock sensor and kncok module (plugs into the ECM).
