Default P/N for coolant temp sensor?

I need to replace the coolant temp sensor for the gauge. I can find the part number for the sensor that goes in the water pump but not the one in the block. Dont care if its ac delco or not, if you know the number off of some autozone or advance type part thats fine with me.

You can go to any auto chain website and get a part number.

Best bet for proper operation is the OEM part. People seem to have trouble with the aftermarket temp sensors for the gauge.

GM PART # 25037332

AC-Delco # 213-77

It is called a coolant switch. Sensors generally go to the computer, senders or switches go to the gauges.

You'll see it named different things depending on who is doing the naming. In this case GM and AC-Delco both call it a sensor in their catalogs. After all, what does it switch?

Most of the people behind the counters are lost without their computer. They can search till they are blue in the face, but they won't find it unless they look under their switch section. I didn't name it, but yes you are right it doesn't switch a damn thing.
