Default LT1 vs 392 SRT8

Went to the track Friday with a few GTO's. It was over 100 degrees (Firebird Raceway Arizona) and the DA was like 4500 but we really only went for fun and to settle a score between my wife's GTO and a couple other slow GTO's. BUT I got a chance to run a new Challenger 392 SRT8. I was not impressed with his performance.(GSP Voice)

Here's a quick vid that was caught.. I think it ran a 14.00 lol

Was at SIR Friday night. A G8 ran 12.60. Took a look under the hood, looked stock except for a K&N air filter.

^ Yep I think they are something like 42xxlbs. I have a relative that really believes their stock srt8 challenger is faster than my le1 355 with suspension work and 3200 stall; I can't wait to finish my 24x ignition, it will not even be a race. I took the srt8 for a spin a few times. The srt8 rides nice, but feels heavy and is slow off the line; they pick up some, but are still slow up top. More of a family performance car than a true performance car.

I got a race with one of those last night. He was the one that egged it on by reving me as I was waiting to turn left. Long story short we ended up lining up he got me off the line and pulled 3/4 of a car on me as I was peddling through first (damn worn out posi) I hit second and pulled 3/4 back plus maybe half a car. By the top of 3rd I had an easy 2-3 cars on him and I shut down. He did the ol ricer flyby made a quick right at the next light and was gone... guess he was pissed he got beat by an old lt1 haha
