So, I didn't put any thread sealant on the head bolts.....

dont do that all ur gonna do is end up with a mix of lube and silicone........use the moly lube under the washer and the head of the bolt where it contacts the head and silicone the bottom at the threads

That's what I was saying....*^^ lol I certainly didnt say to slather them from top to bottom.. No need to have lube on threads running thru the head ... Silicone bottom threads, install, lube washer, install,lube nut, install.. We are talking about studs right? If not for bolts.. Then same as above ,lube washer and under bolt head ..

I've been preaching here that head bolts exposed to coolant passages need to have a good sealant generously applied to the threads. Any of the "sealants" on the market with Teflon and/or moly lube in them are LUBRICANTS and can wash away over time with exposure to hot coolant and heat cycles.

Permatex Indian Head or High Tack are sealants that will stay put.

There's lube already in the threads so it's gonna be mixed regardless.
