A engine is a air pump ,more air in =more air out. you have a NA motor demanding more air to perform . restrict intake or exhaust and you hit a wall in it's potential to make more power . In-depth enough yet? If not try the search button.

I went from 1 5/8 mid tubes to 1 7/8 long tubes on my setup. I have no dyno or track results to compare but you really can "feel" the difference in power or at least I can in my set up. The car sounds much healthier, seems to honestly breath better and is much louder. Do it.

My compression is 11:1 or a little higher cause I put impala head gasket on it. My heads are Dart pro 1 aluminum with 2.08/1.60 valves, my intake is ported by LE, also my cam is custom grind from LE which stop pulling around 6800 rpm, my gears r 4:10, 3000 stall

Think of the combined area of the additional 1/8 all the way around the outside of the circle. I'm guessing it would add up to another sq. inch of additional size for the exhaust to flow, that's significant.
