Default What Converter Circle D vs Yank

I have called both company and told them my set up, what i want and where i would like to be if i can hook. The circle d they suggested for my set-up is the triple disk 4c for 1045 plus shipping. Sounds like a bad *** converter. When i called yank they suggested the PT4000 for my car. Both converter are sweet but im not sure witch one to buy. Money is not the issue at all, just not sure how the Circle d is worth the extra money.
I would like to know if anyone had gone from a yank to a circle d converter?

Did you notice any differences between the 2 converters? pro vs con

What converter would you have gone with first next time?

Please i dont need comments for guys who have never run either of these or had a friend one time that used one. Any input would be great and thanks

I would check out PTC, or Neil Chance b4 either of them. Actually Kline is hooking me up with his company to speak with soon. We all know how his car works after this weekend.

I run a Yank and love it, so I'm going to tell you to go with Yank.

Its like BTE or BTC something like that is the name of the company. With that said Madman told me on ALL his boosted cars he uses Neil Chance and all his NA/N20 car he recommends PTC.

whatever you do tom. this is the one modification you DO NOT cheap out on. both finalists in the street stock class were running the same exact converter Yank SS3600 (an $800 converter) and imho i think that is the main reason why were had an edge.

with your choices i dont think you can go wrong. yank imo is better for street/strip circle d would be a better race converter and net u better times. neil chance from what i hear is the best u can buy. i dn what kline was using but it def works. look at the fastest guys in ur class see what they r using.

I run the Circle D converter and have been many low 1.4's with it on motor. I sent it back to be reflashed hoping for some 1.3's but the track wouldn't hold in Bowling Green, but overall I think they did a great job getting it that close the first try.

This. PTC is where its at.

Between the two in the op, I would go yank. I have seen more results, and better on average.

Let us know the decision!

Haha thanks Tony, I know a lot of people that have had great success with yank converters so I'm not knocking them but on the other hand I had a ptc converter in my car when it had a th400 and even after several re-stalls I was not happy with it.

I forgot to mention the Yank is a single disk and the Circle D is a Triple and lock up is controllable. Foot brake on the yank is 2800-3000 and D is 3000-3200. I think im going to try out the circle d 4c. It seems like its going to work the best for me and my HARD driving and work very well with my turbo set up. We will see very soon. Thanks for all the comments. After seeing BADHAWKS car in person and now knowing he is running one,and talking with Chris at Circle D i think i made the right choice.
