dirty maf can a dirty maf cause KR? i have owned my car for 3 years with a K&n and never cleaned my maf. i'm getting a lot of kr around the torque peak and the car isn't as fast as i think it should be. i took the maf off and looked at it and it has a bit of build up on it but i can't really see the intake side with the screen in the way. does this sound like it could be a major issue for me? I'm really wanting to be back to where I should be. Maybe it's causing my bad mpgs too?
Why not clean it and find out?

Good preventative maintenance to clean it, especially if you have a K&N or other oiled filter. You can take the housing apart so you can get at the leads themselves without the screen in the way. Just be very careful with the sensor, it's delicate and expensive. And use the MAF specific cleaner, not carb or brake cleaner.
