Hey Buddy, I am with you on this one! You're keeping me on the edge of my seat for two weeks! I was in your same situation last year this time trying to break into the 10's with mine.
You've left nothing to chance. I'm totally confident I'll be reading about the NINE's next Saturday afternoon

Sniffing around for the best air?

MIR for domestic vs. import is where it is at. Add to that the longest shutdown in the history of drag racing, the biggest crowd you have ever seen, the best track prep in the world, the best officials anywhere plus $1500 in your pocket if you win!

If you can run down a 67mm turbo Honda, show up with that pig! $5 says I can get you into true street with that "slow *** all motor LT1". November 5-6 2011.

oufff...........well still what makes a car "true street" cause IMO neither my car or that budweiser can with the turbo strapped to it are "true street" cars lol

Does he have any info on the longevity on the engine?Thats my biggest question with the tiny crazy boosted motors.

I went down there to the WCF a couple of years ago with a customers 9.70ish poopra for real street. It went 9.40s every round until it got DICK RAPED by a 170mph turbo honda. I had that thing throwing everything it had (900ish rwhp) at the starting line by the time it was dialed in and it held it no problem in 50 degree air.

As for the classes at the WCF, all motor does not allow ported heads on domestics. True street is where your car would end up after an LT1 rules addendum. Your advantage is rear wheel drive, the honda boys get the power. They also get axles and transmissions that break a lot and shitty 60 ft times. So, if you bring a car that dead hooks in the rain, runs in the 9's every pass and goes round after round consistently, you have a good chance in true street. If you can mow down a pro tree repeatedly, I'd put money on you.

A few local guys went to that event last year and they said it was the worst thing they've ever done. They said the track prep was INCREDIBLE, but that's not what you want for import cars.

INCREDIBLE track prep means = broken FWD output shafts.

I guess they had a running count on how many import cars broke on the starting line. They said it was difficult to get 3 pairings of cars to go down the track without someone breaking. When the better cars would break they would shear stuff off and do oildowns right in the staging area too.

They said it was a total clusterfuck due to the breakage.

Here's one of their quotes from another forum:
If you guys do some searching on other sites, like Y/B you'll see this wasn't just me complaining. But, where do I start...
In no way am I putting down the imports but being that it was an Import Vs World race those guys had their cars tuned up pretty tight. Add to that a DA of around -1500 (yes -1,500!), and a killer track prep by the MIR crew.....and disaster struck, again, and again, AND AGAIN. We started qualifying at 10:00 am on Saturday, and finished our third qualifier at 12:30 am!!! Each time we went to the lanes we sat in them for anywhere from one hour to three...yes I said THREE. The imports would either break axles and final drives on the line or blow up 200 feet out.....of course trailing oil the whole way . All day Saturday we never saw more than 2-3 sets of cars go down without a wreck or an oil down (99% being the imports, they even had a counter. LOL). I love MIR and the Miller family, but another weekend like that would make me sell every single racing thing I have and buy a boat. LOL
Like I said, not trying to put anybody down and I hope Studderin does well. BUT never again for me.
