Default Slp cai

Has anyone ever used the SLP CAI kit? I love the dual filter arrangement.

Many people have. Pain in the *** to get the filters on and off, however it works just as good or better than the competing brands.

PITMFA!!! Also I live in Florida with down pours that pop up really fast and I always worry about water ingestion since the roads here hold a lot of water during the down pours.

Its not hard to use. Make sure the filter clamps are facng toward he middle of the pipe and it will slip right into place. And take the abs pump bolt out so it will go into place. I use this set up on one of my cars and love it.

I like the smoother look than others and the duel filters.
And I only see 2 post in here that talk about there experiance with this intake. 1 hard vs 1 not so hard vs hear say. Buy it you will love it. Get the polished one you will thank me later if you like shiny.

thanks for your 2 cents boosted. I'm seriously leaning towards it. I'm not worried about it being a pain in ***, because my 94 Z has fought me every step of the way during the rebuild, so by now, I kinda expect it.

It's good for air flow it can be a real PITA if you think it's going to just slip in with a solid elbow. The factory rubber seals don’t fit at the MAF to well so I would suggest a second clamp to make sure it seals. Ill post a pic if I get the time later and show you what I am talking about. Now that I custom fit everything it's not so bad. I can get the filters off ok but you still have to go under the car to get at them and with my bad back it's a PITA. Gotta go deal with teenage kid cell phone and computer BS right now LOL kids...

i have it on my car, its not that bad and looks good with the dual pipes. how often are you gonna change the filters? instead of taking 2 seconds to change a filter it takes 2 minutes, not too hard. i dont change the filters from underneath i take the intake out and do the filters.

I've run all major cold air intakes at least once. That being said, SLP would be last on my list. Never had a more annoying intake to remove/install. Lingenfelter is at the top and is also the most affordable, K&N/Moroso hang around in the middle. It does look good, but I'm not a fan of anything else about it.

Ran the SLP cai for 10 Years before switching to a lid setup. The SLP was the best looking cai IMO. It was a little tricky installing the filters but you really shouldn't have to clean them more than once a year or so. I'm sure all cai's perform pretty simillar, it looked like a good design to me.

i went from the moroso to this one and i like it alot more....the fit is much better if you have abs/traction....it deff looks much better.....and honestly the filters to me seem easier being round then trying to put the oval ones on in a tight area

i never really had a problem with them falling off, i just pull the intake up and they come out with no trouble. is one of the filters hitting on the box when you pull it up? try turning one of the filters, on mine i can turn one of the filters one way and it wont go in.

They will all off if you don't have the filters in the correct direction. The filters are slightly angled. I always had them facing each other and the worm gears touching in the middle. I would take the abs bolt out and they would slide right in. 5 min and im wiping the pipe down and ready to go.

Just clarifying I HAVE it and it's a pita. That being said i usually take the whole assembly out when changing the filters. One got alittle bent but i saw good advice on changing the direction of the filters. Also if it's on tight enough they shouldn't fall off without a lot of force

I'll have to try the ABS thing. I have ASR and someone at K&N told me when I was looking at their setup that the ABS modual is bigger when you have ASR??? Modual in the ABS part??? Some BS I don't know I never payed much attention to the size of the ABS on my 93 or 94. I bought the SLP CAI because it was the only one listed that fits a 97 Camaro with ASR.

If you want fast filter changes, get a WS6 airbox.

I've have it before and liked it. Looks great performs well. I really have no idea how it's getting the pita status. Filter changes and install is a cake walk
