Default Can I Break Into 12's

So I am pretty sure I can, but Id like some imput. I'm doing bolt ons and a 100 wet shot. Bout 400 pounds of weight reduction. 373 gears. Full suspension (handling not drag suspension). The car is being built for autox, road course, weekend corner carved, etc. So drag times aren't really that important to me but still. How far into 12s can I get with this set up. It's an M6 car.

I've seen a bone stock LT1 with a 150 shot run an 11.7 @ 116, so you'd be deep into the 12s, easy.

Bolt on M6 cars have been known to run high 12's in average air. Depends on what tire you run. Don't see you doing anything in the 12's unless you have a decent drag radial on a well prepped track.

You should add a engine hour gauge and you will be in the 11s easy

You could possibly hit 12s with headers, DRs and a tune ONLY... and an engine hour gauge.

The guy thinks that without a well prepped track and DR; the OP running 3.73s and a 100 shot isn't going to get into the 12s???

If it has titanium headers, it will go into the 11s. If not, 13s.

A M6 on a street tire and stock suspension I highly doubt it. That "guy" is me w/ a different screen name. Sometimes I log into it on accident.

Still.... stock suspension or not... if he can't with a 100 shot he shouldn't own the car.

Why would you think that?? even with a TERRIBLE 60 ft. the spray should put him in the 12's.

Yeah, what are you thinking, 13.1@113? Going to take a really bad 60ft to make that happen. Just leave off idle and it should 2.2 60ft and go at least high 12s.

I think, especially on a street tire with a manual, I'd only believe it after seeing it happen.

so my car, with its 200k mile bone stock suspension, headers, and cai with a m6 swap that ran 13.4 @ 104 tonight isn't going to get into the 12's with a 100 shot? and this is on street tires, with a 2.0 sixty foot

its only a 100 shot. if street tires can run deep 12's in 450 hp heads/cam cars, why couldn't it in a ~400hp car?

I wish you all the luck. You are running a true street tire. I don't mean a DOT drag radial. I mean like a Pep Boys Futura "H" rated tire...

Mervin,
The pink screen name doesn't bother me. What would bother me is having a 408 LSx in a tin can that runs 117mph and can't break into the 11's.

Just saw this...

That's the answer. Especially with a manual car.
