Default stupid question...

hey guys, just a stupid question, please dont hate me for it haha. but i'll be needin a new engine soon. is there any possibility that theres a 396/ big block crate engine that will drop into a 95 z28? if not how bout a high performance lt1 ready to drop in?

Well you can get a big block to fit in there, its been done before. You have to do some fabbing w/ mounts Im sure. You'd be better off rebuilding yours or going with

those ones on rapid motor sports looked pretty good but to be honest i was hopin to stay at 4000 max on a crate engine. heck i could rebuild it myself like i wanted it for 3.

$4000 max for an entire engine? You're not even close for a turn-key motor. What's wrong with your current LT1? It would be more cost-effective to just rebuild your current motor.

A BBC will cost an incredible amount of time, money, and fabrication to get under the hood.

Rebuild it and keep the LT1 will save TONS of headaches

If you want a bbc in your car take a look in the sbc section and see how much work it is. You'll change your mind real quick.

yeah yall are prob right, the problem is its got 200000mi on it. i've found a few low mile lt1s in the 4 to 500 dollar range. i figure it'd be safe to cam, heads ect. without a rebuild. what do yall think?

pull it out get it honed or bored if needed, get it deacked get heads resurfaced, valve job, new rings, bearings, throw a cam in it , youll be good to go
