Default 95 scanning woes

for those of you that own a 95 model, you know that these cars feature the OBD-1 cpu but have the 16pin OBD-2. has anyone tryied the paperclip style jump trick as seen here http://shbox.com/1/xraycable.jpg

did it work alright?

That's not the paper clip trick, but it does work to adapt a 12 pin scanner plug.

With my scanner it does not work because ground on the scanner is not the same pin as in the picture. Showed this to a friend of mine and he tried it on a Firebird and with his scanner it worked? Lucky me
