Default After 14 years together I sold the Z...

Well sold my car today, I was really shocked by how much interest I got and how quickly it sold, I posted it just 4 weeks ago. I probably had 15 or more people call, email or text me about it. Sold it to a younger guy from OH that saw it on my cz28.com f/s post. He was really impressed with how nice it was and how fast it was, he said it was the fastest car he'd ever driven. I said, yeah, me too I've really wanted a C5Z for a long time, but it really pained me to see it go, when the guy drove off with it I got the strangest feeling. No one had ever driven it except me and hearing it rumbling down the road was kind of sad. It was like seeing one of my kids leave home, lol. I've been with my wife for 13 years now and I bought the Z a year before we met. Thats by far the longest Ive ever owned any car and I was pretty attached to it to say the least. I would have really loved to keep it too but dont have the room in the garage for two and it makes a big down payment toward the c5. Anyway, now starting my search for my next car

Sad story bro. Youll regret it but hey it was your car so whatever makes you happy. Good luck on the C5 search. Just make sure you get a Z06.

Good luck! It is a really nice car and pretty fast for what was done to it.

Yeah, I knew I would regret it some, if I had a bigger house/garage and more $ I definitely would have kept it. I am getting a C5 ZO6, I'm not even considering any other C5 models. Even bone stock a C5z can run with or beat my times. I plan on getting one as close to stock as I can find, then just doing an intake and LT's to start. Don't think I'll touch the cam or internal for a long time. Want to get into some autox and knew even stock those would way outhandle mine. Probably still hit the 1/4 once in a while too. Really looking forward to finding one.

14 years is a long time, but a C5Z or C6 would be a nice upgrade. Good luck with the search!

Greg first congrats on the sale, as Mike said you will regret it Something about having these damn cars. I've had mine since new too. The only thing that makes it easier letting go is the rust mine has gotten.

I saw a really clean z06 for sale here (Chicago) the price is decent and the mileage is only 27k. Looks like a clean car.

That look like a great car, thats one of my favorite colors too, not a bad price. There are several for sale a little closer to me that Im looking into now. Dont really want to travel that far to get one, Chicago is a pretty good haul from me, I'm near Philly.

27k for a c5z for that price you could get a c6 with an ls2 that makes the same power and handles much better. I paid 19k for my last C5z with 32k and it even had add ons and extra parts. You will love the Vette way more than any Camaro you ever buy. They blow f body out of the water in every category. But the parts are much more expensive. I would suggest swapping the mono leaf out first if your going to auto cross the car. Will help in the apex a ton.

Yeah there's no way I'm paying 25 for one, my target price is 20. I know C6's sell for 25-30 for early models. I've always loved the whole c5z concept and looks since it came out, I'm pretty much set on it now.

the car has 27k miles. He's asking 24500 in the ad. I bet you can get that car for 21/22. That's not a bad price for a clean z06 w/27k miles. And I'd still get this body style z06 over any C6 ls2. The only c6 that looks good IMO is the z06/zr1 wide body.

I agree with everthing you said in this post. I think that is a ok price and i would definitly take a c5z any day over a base model c6.
