As previously stated, just tune the shift points. For $150 you could get tuner cat and get the obdi setup from AKM CABLES. This would allow you to tune the car your self and get familiar with the tables in the pcm. I cant tell you how many times ive tuned and retuned my car. You might even think your done tuning but us gear heads are always changing something. IMO its much more fun to play around with the tuning then send it out everytime you need to make an adjustment.

I have the cable and tunerpro. I just dont know what tables to adjust. Its not the shift points. Mo mentioned it was a map table. He adjusted it once from the limiter to 6k i just need to find the happy medium and was just gonna see if i could figure it out myself. Ill just go thru the tunes table by table and figure it out or if mo will tell me so when i go to the track i can adjust and see if it actually helps.

Went back to the track tonight and figured out the issure my tranny is skipping second gear and going to third and falling on its face. Ran a 12.8 @ 106 and NPB 1.6 60' should be low 12's or high 11's if i can figure out this issue before my new setup.

Do you have any way of datalogging? I can help you with the tuning.

Have you tried shifting it by hand?

What TB are you running?
If your TPS voltage goes too high at WOT, it will set a code and cause it to skip 2nd like you saw.

Greg i have datmaster but it dosnt have a "smooth" data connection it will cut out info for a second or two then start again. I'll try to figure it out this weekend and send you some logs.

My TB is a ASM monoblade ill check the tps voltage again. Ive always had issues with this tranny. PCM for less couldnt tame it on boltons and now this skipping second gear issue. I think it has low 12's or high 11's in it as it sits.

Dave, Get a hold of Bryan at pcmforless and ask him which code to disable to rule out that it's your TB giving you a bad TPS signal. It might just save you a wasted outing.
If that ASM is new to this setup, it's a likely cause of your 2nd gear skip. My Holley TB did it first time out too. A telltale sign is if the blades are visually going past center before reaching the mechanical stop.
The true fix is to tweak the mechanical stop. The temporary fix is just disable the code.

Yes this setup has been to the track twice and has been doing this. I actually didnt know it was skipping the gear. I thought the converter was to tight and not letting it rev or i was low on power. I'll look into the mechanical stop and disable the code if i can. I hate wasted trips to the track. I want to get a clean no excuses pass so i can a good number to compare my new A.I. setup that i got.

you are at least 100hp down from where you should be, imo. (with a cam that size)
i would yank that thing out and start over again.

Damn.....I have to agree I hadn't even paid attention to your ET/mph till now.
Something is seriously amiss with the motor or the tune.
My car lost only .6 sec and 4 mph when it skipped 2nd gear.
Your trap is down 10 mph from where it should be, even considering the 1-3 shift issue.

What is my cam size? Lol ive NEVER posted it i dont think. Im building another motor but im still gonna run this one till its done. Its running rich when it skips second and goes into third. This motor was me getting comfortable with the platform. Its low comp. Ill have a new motor in prob three months or so.

I did a cam swap after i started this thread sry forgot my old cam specs are in the start of the thread. I thought the cam was to big and tried a cam i had in another motor in the garage. But yes i think its not the right mph. Not many good local tunners for a dyno/track tunning and i dont have much time to mess with it.

Why??
That is so far off of what I know to work well, I think I'll have to agree with vtec's earlier comment: .......rip it out and start over
Either somebody screwed that one up or I'm missing something huge ????
