If you stick with the stock pump setup, don't buy the cheapest one you can find. At least get some kind of warranty.

As for the EWP's I've had three different ones.
The CSR was the smallest of the bunch, no need to cut anything up. Its seal for the pump to the motor windings failed after a year and a half, so coolant got in there and ate it up.
Replaced it with a Jegs brand (wasn't my first choice but they had them in stock and I needed it quick) It is longer and requires some cutting, its been on my car for over a year no problems at all.
Bought a Meziere for my other LT1, by far the best built and has a really nice harness. They also shaped the impeller blades. Its also a long body so you will have to cut the fan shroud.

If you do wind up with a EWP, run it off a good relay not one of those POS they sell on the parts store shelves, something like a ABS relay would be better built and sealed. Also run a fuse on the power line.
