1992 lt1 vette engine?

My 97 z28 engine is on it's last leg and i found a 92 lt1 vette engine with 55,000 miles for $550 and would like to know if it will work in my car?

You will need to swap the intake manifold, timing cover balancer hub, knock sensor, opti but the engine itself will work just fine and that is a nice price so long as the condition is honest.

Agreed. Now if it has 155k miles then thats pushing it. Is it in the car running? Make sure it spins freely

A 4-bolt LT1 w/ 55k for $550 sounds like a scam. 155k sounds more realistic.

I bought a 4 bolt main shortblock with 53k documented miles for $325.00 about 6 months ago, has worked fine, doesn't burn oil, great compression. They are out there, just not a every day find. Do your homework first, and can be a great deal.

It doesn't sound like a scam to me. An LT1 motor is nothing special anymore - not surprised to see someone letting it go for cheap.

It has the manifold but none of the fuel injection setup. It dont have a water pump, opti, and timing cover. The guy said he built a 383 stroker and used that stuff on it. There must be a reason he wouldn't build up this motor instead. I don't want to take a 2hr drive just to find out it's junk and drive another 2hrs back empty handed. Now I'm thinking about just rebuilding mine which has 145,000 miles and is getting coolant in the oil.
