It never ends!
So after my LT install and putting everything back together, I also put new plugs and wires on and check the fire order and connections about 3 times, everything was good. The car wouldn't start, the starter wires were touching. I fixed that, still no start. Discovered the car has a aftermarket alarm and had it professionally removed, still no start! It will crank has spark and fuel but will not turn over. Could not having the air pump on car make it from not starting, since I took it off for emissions???? Anyone have any ideas???

Is the security light on? Or did the aftermarket alarm be connected to the cars security system. U need 3 things, air fuel spark.the AIR has nothing to do with it. Any codes? Check the high and low Res signal you may have a bad ignitoon module. Touching wires never turns out good with electrical systems.

I knew it! Luckily my touching wires didn't fry anything. Check your fuses.
If your car has air, fuel, spark, and is cranking there's no reason why it wouldn't start right up. Something is missing.

Now are you talking about spark plug wires touching or just wires? The security light comes on when I turn the key to the on position but them turns off. I'll have to scan it for codes.

I was talking about the touching starter wires which would cause the car to crank every time the batt was connected.
If the security light goes away then it's not a VATS/security problem. If the car is cranking you're missing either spark or fuel. Once over the plugs and don't forget the coil. Also, can you hear the fuel pump in standby?

Let me ask this just to make sure. Now on the starter there is the main cable and then there is a purple and black cable. Do the purple and black cable go to the same place or is that blck a ground that mounts to the block?? That's how I have it now

I just had a strange issue that sounds similar. It ended up being a loose fuse. It was the fuse in the lower left corner of the fuse box under the hood. I found it so never double checked to see what the fuse does.

Crank and turn over mean the same thing. You are confusing people. I think what you mean is that it cranks, but will not start. With all the cranking, it surely could be flooded. Check some plugs for excess fuel. Check fuses, too.

I was thinking the same thing about the crank and turn over...was cofusing. How do u know u have fuel? Did u check pressue? Sounds to me like the injectors are off, try some starting fluid (ether) to see if it will fire (I know its not good) but he has to find out if its fuel related.

There is just the battery cable and purple wire to the starter, the black wire goes to ground on the side of the block.
Does it spin freely or does it give you a chug once in a while when it is cranking over?
