Default 358 ci lt1?

This is was i have to work with.

Lt1 95k miles no problems with motor.
Le2 package with cam
Lt headers
4l60E stock 3500miles
mail order tune for the mods.

I want to convert it to carb, and want ideas about making it a 358ci if possable,.I want to rev 7.5k-8k and want 10.8:1 compression.


Power goals 500hp
Do able with $4k buget?

Are le2's on the motor? Just do arp rod bolts on ur motor with those heads. Why go to carb? Le 2's would be fine right at 7k.

No way in hell you are getting 500 hp with a 4k budget.

well at least a start, its a project car. so if the cars don for 4-6months doesn't bother me.

4k to start me out. thats what i have in hand

my motor revs up pretty fast. just want some more rpms.

i also start hitting rev limiter at 134ish in overdrive
4.56 gears in a 10 bolt rear end.

set some realistic goals with your budget... machining alone can cost ~ 900 for a reliable set up... parts, go fish; rotating assemblies are usually 1800 or so depending on how wild you wanna get. not to mention everything else that nickel/dimes you to death.

how do you use a mail order tune if its carbed?

If you want to run 500 hp safely, upgrade the rear end quickly. The stock, soft 10 bolt will explode the first time u try to launch it.
