Damn that's expensive...where are you located? Here in Charlotte I got a dyno tune for $300....for the new 383 it's going to be $300-400. Maybe it has something to do with all the race shops around here. I'd be willing to bet your issues are tune related, not to bash PCM for less but my local dyno tuner picked up 12 HP from their tune. Good luck tuning it yourself; oh yea those 3.23 gears aren't doing you any favors as far as driveability goes.

Id say your issues are tune related, Then again seeing that you are an Automatic car and running a tighter stall that LSA is going to make it a little jerky in the light accelleration area. I would advance the cam a little and try a little bit more timing.
Id say the issues you have are nothing to do with lift numbers. Even if your heads doing flow in the .600 lift area a .600 lift cam isnt going to cause issues, if you didnt have a good enough valve spring it could cause float, or shorten the life span of your springs faster but its not going to cause any light throttle/mid range issues.
You can switch to 1.5rr's if you want to spend the money, but its not going to fix your problem. Its the Tight LSA or the tune. Before spening 200-300 on RRs Id save a couple more hundred bucks and get it dyno tuned IMHO.
