Default lt1 wont start!

just got my engine bay buttoned up after dropping in my motor after a rebuild.
went to crank it with spark plugs and injectors unplugged to get some oil pressure but when i turn the key to start it all i hear is one bick click from the starter, no cranking or anything, just the one big click.
Has my starter gone bad? worked great before my rebuild
Also, i know somthing electrical is hooked up wrong because when i turn on my headlights all of them are dim except my pass side far light, then when i flip the brights on both the lights on the driver side go out and both lights on the pass sight light all the way up..
any info you can give me on what to do would be great! thanks guys

Check to make sure the starter cable has good connection and isn't arcing on anything, had it happen to me before. Also could be your battery

I dont have a multimeter so i have no way of checing the battery, however evverything else electrical works great, pump primes, radio and all interior lights work, but other than that, no wayy to check battery. My starter cable isnt arching on anything and seems to have a good connection, if it clicks then its getting power right? Or is that just the exciter wire trying to make it turn or shoot the gear into the flywheel?

Not enough juice. Battery or cables.

I would go get a new one, especially if it's 2-3 years old and hasn't been run since you started the rebuild

i just had this happen to me
it may sound dumb but i had somehow tightened the negative battery terminal too tight, and when i loosened it a hair it cranked right up

i figured it out! it was actually the wire that connects the solonoid to the starter, it was loose, which is odd because i never once touched it... oh well! cranks like a champ now!
thanks guys
