Once you run a spool you'll wonder why you ever wasted time with a posi. They are stronger, way lighter, and cheaper. Win, win, win. Driving on the street with one is uneventful, unless it's raining, then you have to be careful. At the level most of our cars are at, i'm sure nobody heads out in the rain though. I got caught in a freak rainstorm about 10 miles from home a few years ago with Hoosier QTP's. I just nursed it home in the right lane on the side streets at 30mph. No surprises, it never got squirelly.

Joel, driving with that spool on the street, does that chew your tires up or anything like that?

You'd think that it would burn them right up, but that's not the case at all. I easily get a full season out of a set of QTP's. That's about 2k street miles and 10 or so track outings.

I have been street-driving a spool for over 7 years now. It's not that bad really - the track manners and ease of maintenance more than make up for its shortcomings.
