Well new update. I got a new torque converter made....

After going back and forth trying to decide where to get a torque converter made I finally decided. It was between Neal Chance and FTI. Both companies are top notch but in the end, FTI got the go ahead to build mine. I researched and talked to both companies but in the end I liked how FTI built theirs. Everywhere I read, everyone said FTI drove around like stock until you put your foot into it, then hold the hell on.

What I liked about FTI was all the bearings are captive. If something ever let go it didn't wipe everything out and take out the trans. In my research no one else does this. What I also liked was all the fins were completely welded instead of tacked.

I went with their SST billet 9" non lock up race converter. It was spec'd to my exact set up. It will stall up to 2500 on the foot brake and 4500-4700 on the trans brake. It has anti balloon plate fully welded to the face. It is rated to 1000 hp. I can't wait to get it in the car and see how it does. I ordered it on a Friday, it was made and shipped out on Monday. Took 1 week to get to me.

It's an aftermarket cnc machined md stator. I didn't go spragless because it will be street driven more than the track.

I love all the quality parts you chose for your build. I have no doubt this car is going to get down.

Thanks man. It's been a long process between the two cars I have built. I think with this one I about where I want to be. I think I have all the parts in place to do what I want to do. Should be a blast to drive. I wanted to give the lt1 a second chance to see what was possible. My old 355 far exceeded my expectations. I will see if this one goes more than 3000 miles before I start tearing it apart and building something else. I know my next project will be a procharged set up. Wife will probably kill me though. I am still trying to find a 55-56 Chevy to build up.
