Default 97 camaro temp gauge not working

So my temp gauge isnt working on my 97 camaro(lt1 car). It doesnt flick when you start the car. I tried grounding the wire and the gauge didnt move. I WAS getting 12v to the green wire.

Bad guage?

Change the sensor it's easy to do I think it's a 3/4 wrench its located on the front side of the head on the drivers side it's only like 25 bucks

Why didn't the gauge move when I grounded the wire when I disconnected the wire. I doubt its thesensor because the gauge never moved

Your gauge died...mine did too, it would work every now and then, but it doesn't move at all now. Unfortunately, you have to replace the whole damn gauge cluster PITA I just got a double gauge pod and used a $20 autozone gauge and hooked it up instead of trying to fix the whole cluster...works fine now and also have an oil temp gauge too.

You might have an open circuit. Check the wire continuity from the head to the gauge cluster.
