Stroker Build Questions

Stroker Build Questions
I'm about to rebuild my motor over the winter and I was originally planning a 355; reusing the stock crank. However I am throwing around the idea of a stroked motor.
I am not new to building motors but I am new to anything other than stock stroke. I'm looking into a 3.75" stroke crank to build a 383.
My questions are:
- Between 5.7" & 6" rods, which one is "better"?
- Will the 6" rod have any clearance issues?
- Do I have to be concerned with any clearances with the larger stroke (besides for the initial machine work to get the journals to clear)?
- Do I need to use a different oil pan?

I would use 6" H beam rods with ARP 2000 capscrews and they shouldn't have clearance issues (Eagle and others make stroker clearanced rods) and no clearance issues with the stroker crank. Also you don't have to use another oilpan but you "should" get a higher capacity oilpan like a Canton 242T, Moroso and others also make them.

Is it worth doing a 383 or just stick with a slightly higher reving 355? I need to make enough power if I did the stroker to justify the extra grand or so. It's going to be in a street car that gets driven in the summer to and from work (about 6-7 miles each way).
