If anything is cheap insurance it is Wickeds piece. It does as mentioned and, should the plastic crack or the like, Wickeds piece will hold it securely in place with the 4 "arms" and keep it from ruining your engine.

No brainer for me. I went with the aluminum one. The stocker was torqued done properly but failed due to the hv oil pump and weight oil used. Cheap insurance for all the $$$ spent on my new engine and was a no brainer. I would rather know I protected my investment every way I possibly could have.

A buddy of mine bought a 96 TA, about 3 months after he got it his oil pressure dropped to zero suddenly. Turned out someone had rebuilt the motor and used a High Volume oil pump.

That gear IMO does not appear to be the OEM gear that I have commonly seen for LT1.

IT may not be, we never looked into it further. It does look a lot like this one though

Any idea on how I can get ahold of wicked? Is he on the site? I emailed him a few times and haven't heard anything back. I'll try giving him a call today. This is the only part holding me from getting my oil system back in.

Thanks!

I just replaced my drive with a new OEM one during a cam change. The original one with 118k on it looked perfect. New one went in torqued to 13 ftlbs, hopefully it will last as long.

As a few have stated they had failures due to HV oilpumps or combining such with heavy oils. Both problems are not design faults and are more the result of grossly outdated thinking on the part of the builder.

Ellis and quik95lt1 have "nonstandard" setups not directed at them, they are using hardware with a larger purpose.
