Default Summit MAF question

Hey guys,I did a search on this and the closest thing I could find were people talking about descreening the oem maf,or talking about granatelli's..But I was just curious if anyone has had experience with throwing this on their LT1.

http://www.summitracing.com/parts/SUM-29006B-C/

I've been reading and it seems like for the amount of money, not using the oem maf is just stupid. But I was just wondering if maybe this summit MAF would have tuned tables since it's descreened and if anyone has any experiences with using it?

Thanks

I'm running the stock MAF screen and all but considering an 85mm LSX MAF in the future. Too much proof on the forums that Granatelli is crap.

What are your mods?

Rob I have an LS maf on my car... looks like it should flow better, considering there isn't that huge tunnel for the element in it, other than that... really is no different.

For what I'm going to do, it'll help.

The stock MAF can support huge HP. By the time you need a freer flowing MAF you're looking at an aftermarket intake manifold anyway.

It's best IMO to just leave the stock one alone.

Thanks for the replies guys. I'll prob. just stick with my stock MAF since it looks like the aftermarket ones arent worth the money. My current mods are just a K&N CAI,hypertech tuning, air foil, intake elbow, and flowmaster 80 series muffler..So nothing much really..But I've only had the car for a year now.In the spring when I get it back out I plan on throwing pacesetter longtubes on,getting rid of the cats and later on next year I plan on dropping a cc503 in it,electric water pump,52mm TB,having some head work done and a tune to top it off of course.
