Fuel level is off on gauge cluster.

My gauge us actually pretty close in this car. It goes all the way down to "e".When it quits fluctuating I know I better get gas fast.

The last car I had was empty at 1/4 tank.

Mine seems to be an 1/8 high, I can live with it.

This is how my 95Z28 was as well, When it would get low, I would jerk the car back and forth(not hard, just enough to get movement in the tank) and see if the gauge moved, if it didnt, gas was needed asap lol

This can be exaggerated over time by deposits on the electrical contacts. The b-body doesn't exhibit this quite as badly as the f-body seems to but more than a few guys have run dry with 1/4 on the gauge. I used Shaeffer's Neutra and FP60 each for a while(ran out, haven't reordered) and my car reads pretty well, slightly better than when I bought it since these cleaned things up.
The b-body tank is pretty symetrical top to bottom BUT is like a huge pancake with next to no baffling so I have to keep it solidly over 1/2 to race or corner hard.

The easy fix is to always reset the trip odometer and watch that more than the gauge.

When I had my gauge cluster apart I pushed the fuel indicator down about 1/8 of a tank.

Mine is much more accurate, though its never going to be fixed because of the tank size.

What pisses me off is how it used to go to "full and a quarter", moving the needle fixed that.

Also gives me few extra miles to get gas if I am running low.

just think though, if your car ever gets stolen and the punk gets in a highway chase, thinks he's set because he has a "half a tank" of fuel but he doesn't. Thats the only pro i can come up with for have a fuel gauge thats off.

My gauge is somewhat close... after i get past half tank, whenever i accelerate or brake hard, the gauge either goes up or down, but ive ran the tank down to around 1/8 tank, and the car never stopped on me (but bc ive heard of this issue, i never let it get below 1/8 tank)

Mine reads past full when full, and when it goes down to E i still have about 5 gallons left in the tank, i use my trip meter to moniter my gas now.

my gas guage goes about an 1/8 of a tank past full and when it gets to the full mark ive got about half a tank, and then maybe a 1/4 at the half mark but i have found that empty really is empty lol

I have a 255 also.
However, it's on the V6 assembly from my car.

The gauge is pretty accurate, stops full a little over full.

Fill it all the way up, pull the bucket and bend the arm on the float until it reads closer to full. Then I suppose you could have a friend push the float down into the tank and you'll get an idea of how much fuel you'll have when the gauge reads E?

Ill try this or just pull the needle and put it back so its on full.

Dont let it get below 1/2 Tank..I've done that with both my F-bodies and what I have now..just my thing that I always do.
