Default Lt1 sputters at low acceleration

My z28 has been acting up lately. It has an odd idle, not rough but sounds strange. the biggest thing is that the car stutters at low acceleration. No stuttering/sputtering at WOT. It doesnt die on me, just has that low acceleration sputter problem. any suggestions??

Did you scan for codes?
Is the car missing?
Is this a spark issue or fuel issue?

There are a million different things it could be.

how many miles on the engine? fuel system cleaned recently? or ever? throttle body is dirty? maf sensor malfunction? spark plugs? like he said theres a million possibilities

Agreed....i'd say a million and one. I just went through the same problems with mine. Got new plugs and wires, new ignition coil, cleaned throttle body, cleaned MAF, fuel injector cleaner....just figured it out this weekend when i had the cat cut off. Runs like a champ now.

were the cat guts all broken up? cuz mine is running...off...really annoying misses with no pattern i can find and ive heard the cat can cause that by trapping gasses.

Yeah the front (close to the engine) was all busted up but the rear was still intact. Mine had gotten progressively worse over time. Under 2300 rpm it would stutter uncontrollably and the car would actually violently jerk. Above 2300rpms it would smooth out a bit but then it had no power, felt like a 4 banger. Another thing i noticed was the car got harder to start, would crank and crank forever, now it fires up as soon as i turn the key.

Check for codes after its been running for a while.
O2 sensors can cause this.
Coolant switch in the water pump can be bad
Aswell as a few other things, try disconnecting the o2s and see if anything changes

As of today, ive changed plugs, wires, Disconnected the MAF and cleaned throttle body. Taking it to get scanned, im thinking its either O2 sensors or cats (just get them gutted). Wouldnt cutting an emissions control device out help the flow of air = therefore better preformance....

the car has 141k, and fuel system has been cleaned.
