I tell you what bro, go to www.gmhightechperformance.com and check the crane setup they did on a LT-1 Z and you will understand. No ? is a dumb ? I learn something everyday!!! Also go with a digital instead of a analog setup. There is nothing wrong with the analog BUT the digital will be better for you.

I use the HI-6. Good ignition box, not as good as the MSD but lots cheaper.

I too have been behind the power curve in learning what these systems do and how they work. I understand the bottom line of providing a hotter spark. But do they replace the ignition system from Opti Spark distributor to the plugs or do they "piggy back" onto the Opti spark?

Regards
Steve

Count me in on this question too.

My wife has a 93 Z and it has the terrible lag that I have now found out is common. Will the HI-6 or the MSD help with this problem?
We have done all the tune ups, plugs, wires, etc, that we can...still has a hesitation in there for some reason.

Steve- they are basically an opti piggyback. Dynaspark, ltcc, and any other ignition system you've heard of all use the stock opti, but they improve on it and eliminate many of the problems.

Kev, as for the lag, it could be one of a number of things. Check your o2s as well. If not them, try getting your PCM tuned.
