Jeff Pat and Mike both run the ATI 8 inch Non lockup. Pat runs 10.9's N/A and Mike runs 10.5's N/A both in 3800 lb Impala's. Call PTC they are the one's who built mine. I am running 135+ in the 1/4 with their 10" converter. They are AWESOME. P.M. me and I can give you more info and details.
Pm sent..

Your motor makes me wish I went bigger on my shortblock. I have the heads, intake, and valvetrain to control and feed it but I'm going to have to settle for a little high rpm 383

Good luck! Your motor should be a testament to thinking outside the box of cookie cutter LT1 builds...a bunch of parts that people will say wont ever work or are useless but runs like a beast.

My 10.58 was a decent pass but still on no tune, running in open loop. As soon as I plug the o2's in it starts to run all funky and fouls plugs. It's a dilemna i'm having right now as to what aftermarket controller to get. Whatever setup I go with will be around $3g, yikes! Then some 4.30 rear gears (3.73's now) with a 28" tire (27 now) and i'll be able to spin it to 7500 like it wants to. With the new gears/tires and rpm, it "should" do 136mph which is all I want it to do, even with converter slippage. The converter has to come out as well, it stalls around 4400 right now, i'd like it over 5k.
Plus i've got to get some more weight out of this pig! lol, drag brakes, manual brakes (i've had the kit for 3 years now), a lexan rear, a madman front rack, and a little trimming ought to knock off another hundred or so. I will have to add some ballast for the shootout.

Good thread! Lets see, my goals are like this
Personal:
Get in shape by March 9th (my 30th birth day)
Pass all my classes at school
replace my homes downstairs carpet with wood flooring
As for the car
3600 stall
3.90 gears
New dash pad, headliner, and fix the tear in the driver seat.
Id like to also buy some nittos and make a few track passes just to see where im at by the end of 2012 (I refuse to do a track pass on regular street tires). Lastly id REALLY like to make it to the LTX shootout if there is to be one.
Good luck to everyone with there goals, I hope someone remembers this thread and brings it back next December to see how many actually meet there goals.

My goal upgrade the turbo system with things that will help spool quicker and be more efficient. So more exhaust wrap and ceramic coating turbo and adding a Aeroforce boost controller. I would like to mini tub the car with a nice 12 point cage as well. Once those are done im going to add electric blue flames to the car and paint some of the interior to match.

Car itself is nowhere near finished - still need tranny, stall, and rear end. Temporarily going to run it on a stock 95 computer until I can afford a 24x or FAST XFI setup, so I'll be ~500rpm short of it even peaking.
Long way to go still before its track ready.

I haven't been in the car but 3 times in 2012, trapped 116 in 2011 but never got a good et out of it due to lack of suspension and gear setup....The motor that is in it is coming out for a stocker. I plan on a slow FI build with the block that in the car now(stock 4 bolt) as well as enjoying a stock/ bolt on car for the next few years while i get everything together.

I got a set of 18 inch torque Thrusts for the car finally. That was one goal for the year. The current goal is to lay some concrete in the work shop. Sucks having a low paying job.
