Default LT1 Idle?

So i just recently bought a 95 Camaro and it has lt4 heads and intake. full exhaust the whole shabang. anyway it idles around 1k rpm warm is that normal for this motor. If not what should it idle at and how can i adjust it/ fix it. Im thinking it could be a vacuum leak. what do you think?

A vacuum leak is always possible. M6 hot idle is 800 and A4 is 650 (neutral) as stock. Idle speed is set in the PCM. It's possible there could have been some reprogramming done. A scanner will tell you what the "desired idle" speed is to give you a clue.

When i first had mine tuned by pcmforless my idle speed was 1000 rpm. I called them and they said to send it back to them because some lt1 cars require a different program. I sent it back and a week later it was all good. Call your tuner.

thanks that pretty much rules vacuum leak out. the kid i bought it off of said it got dyno tuned i have 3 dyno sheets each with different peak horsepower highest chart being 362 hp. But i think im going to get it re tuned anyway its running really rich you can smell it and when i pull it in the garage it fumes up bad and fast and you can see it like a fog.
