Whats the best Turbo for rear mounted?
hello,
i was just wondering if anybody could point me in the right direction with the right size, best performance, and brand of turbo for my rear mount set up. as well as the right fuel injector size. i have a 255lph fuel pump allready installed.
my car is a stock 1995 z28 with the old motor being swapped out for a LT1 vette motor with slp headers. i am in the process though of building a 355 for later down the road with stock crank, forged pistons and rods, 195cc heads 2.00in and 1.6ex and a LE1 Cam LSA 112.
but for right now my goals for my stock motor is 4-5 psi boost and was wondering what the HP gains are from 4-5psi and what is best turbo is for the money and efficency.
i was also wondering what is involved with the tuning of the comupter. such as which values get changed?
thanks everyone,

Don't wast your time and money on a measly 4-5 lbs of boost for what...60-75 RWHP You can get those gains with just bolt ons and a cam for MUCH cheaper and be more reliable at the same time.

I would also build the 4motor bolt block if it is indeed a 4 bolt. And I would not only run 4-5psi I would plan on 10-12a but build it for 15-18 so it can grow with you.
As for a turbo a ball bearing would be the better of the 2 choices and on a built motor a Tc 76 or 78 would be great. A lot depends on cam shaft and when you want it to spool will determine what exhaust housing and actual turbo size. You should read the sticky in the FI section on and also google Or search Zombie rear mount. Great read
