Wiring Gurus Enter Here I recently had some wiring damaged under the dash of my 95 z28. The car would crank and run for about 5 seconds then die. I took the dash out, repaired the wiring as best I could and started the car. It ran fine. Got the dash all back in, everything nice and neat and imagine that - the car starts and runs for about 5 seconds then dies. Took it to the local mechanic and had him put a scanner on it, he says he isnt even getting a signal from the ECU. Im really stumped and dont even know where to start. Any insight would be greatly appreciated.
Fuel pump is running fine as far as I can tell. Car also ran great before the wiring was damaged.

If you had damaged wiring under the dash i would only guess it was your ignition switch on column? Have you replaced it yet? I had an issue with mine it do all sorts of **** and then die. Turned out the ignition switch burnt up and blew. Got a new switch and cleaned up the connector and been fine since.

I'd look into continuity of the wire for the fuel enable signal from the VATS module to the PCM.
