Default its the small things

Its the small things that really make your car a joy to drive. This past weekend I fixed the heat, replaced the worn rag joint with a LS1 shaft and got rid of the last squeak..

what a difference! The car responds MUCH better, and I can hear the radio..Now I just need to figure out what the dull thud is coming from the back when I go over bumps....

Do you know if the LS1 rag joint/knuckle is smaller than an LT1?

torque arm mount/ hitting exhaust with torque arm. exhaust mounts sagging and hitting panhard bar/ rear. just start grabbing parts and shaking the hell out of them. it worked for me

Rear hatch? I have rod ends everywhere and it bangs pretty good going over a bump.

this, was a worn out CA bushing... replaced everything with tube/rod ends...

night and day difference as far as suspension repsonsiveness... but, it is indeed very "clunky" over rough road

edit... also check the shock mounts in the rear... one of my bushings that are under the carpet was dry rotted pretty good.

i'm curious about the hatch though, mine always has clunked, even with stock springs/shocks/rubber bushings. Is this a widespread thing or is it fixable with an adjustment or two on the latching mechanism?

try peeking back there for something like under the hood, the little bump stop things, maybe you could add them if need be and it would probably help a ton... mine fits pretty good...

edit, I was just at the trunk of my mustang (yes I know) but they have a big spring in either corner... hmmm

Hey thanks guys. Do all of you guys that have the LS1 steering shaft/knuckle have headers as well? I'm wondering even with the LS1 shaft if you'd have to dent the tubes on the header?
