Default Lt1 heads

got a lt1 its stamped W2 on the drivers side head????? does tht mean different heads or what??

Could mean a hundred different things. But by far the casting number is more important (located under the valve cover, 8 digits long).

It's the GM part number.

Any reason you'd think the W2 would mean anything special?

I think I have seen that before, no idea what it meant though, believe it was a stamp not a cast in thing.

I would not worry about it.

why do i seem to recall someone talking about w2 stamped heads being related to a 327 or something?

An LT1 bock can be recognized by the number 327 cast into it.

You may be recalling w2(if you are older) from small block Mopar heads
