I've never heard of a 250 miles break in period. I picked mine up from Strange Engineering in Morton Grove,Il. almost 2 years ago, and it did not come stating a break in period. I know some members here installing their S60 or 12 bolt one day, then going all out the next day at the track with no issues. Did you get yours with a posi? Trutrac,Wavetrac etc. whatever they call it? Maybe, those will require some type of break in. I was more or less referring to a SPOOLED differential, and thats what I have.

When I got my S60 with tru trak & 4:56's break in was 30 min drive with various speeds and a over night cool down per strange.

Changed the fluid and went to the track. Was dead quiet until something was tweaked after car almost went into the wall.

On another note, that rearend should take what ever you can throw at it with no problems!!!

What are you street/strip guys running for a differential, when I got my S60 5 years ago I ordered it with the trutrac but I'm switching to a Detroit locker this year for a more drag oriented setup?

My S60 had a warning about breaking it in. If I can find it I'll post it. I think it was 50 miles. Hard to do with a spool. The only thing "off" on mine is it 's tight going backwards. It's all you can do to twist the drive shaft backwards with the tires off the ground. You can push the car frontwards on level ground, but it's a lot harder to push it back.
