Default translator plus?? WTH is it and what does it do

i got a device call translator plus by horsepower in a box. i have no clue what it is or does no intructions came with it apart of the deal i got with the car help would be appriciated thanks.

It modifies the output of the MAF sensor to trick the PCM into thinking there's either more or less air intake. So you can use it to modify WOT A/F mixture. The same thing that is accomplished by editing the MAF tables via Tunercat, Tunerpro, LT1Edit, etc.
MAF translators were popular a long time ago before the tuning software became cheap.

It's not much use unless you can datalog with a wideband O2 sensor.
Sell it if you can and apply the funds toward a custom tune, preferably a dyno tune.

As said ^, but good luck trying to sell it. If you ever get a tune, the tuner "Should" calibrate the maf anyway if needed and this is rarely and area that needs to be altered. Most in FI applications but not N/A..

Those are best left to vehicles without much aftermarket support. The car you have is HEAVILY supported by the aftermarket.
Basically what I am saying is they have their place but here is not it.
