1994-1993 swap..need input
I found a 1993 PPM camaro z28 Hardtop w/104k for relatively cheap. Its in good condition. PPM is getting rare these days as well. My issue is that ive put alot of money into my 94 and was planning on swapping everything into another car.
As alot of you know 1993 is speed density, 1994 is MAF. If i do swap engines, should i leave the 1993 speed density? Im not sure if anyone would want a roller Trans am thats hurt. But i Think i could make alot of money selling the 1993 Engine and trans and various parts off of the car. Or i can just start a new build on a lower mile engine and sell what i can from the 1994. I would take my headers and exhaust for sure.
I might even need to swap transmissions? not sure if a 4l60e will work in that car or if i would need to use the 1993 transmission, its a 700r4 isnt it?
My concearn is tuning, just getting the hang of tuner pro for the 1994, can you self tune a speed density car? need a chip burner i assume.
Heres the damage to my 94...My main complaint is that this car will never be worth any money with this damage, and it will cost the cost of a new car to fix.... The 1993 however should be worth something in the end since its not damaged, and it has PPM and hardtop going for it.
It also has damage to the dog leg that was poorly repaired. And yes, the car has 2 rocker panels on it!! a 60 mile ride on a crotch rocket after work wears you out enough to over look this stuff. If i had saw this i wouldve said hell no!

I think you need to run a wire to the ALDL if you want to tune though. someone else had a thread on that, not sure if it was completed.
Apparently the harness and computer will swap over easy, youll need to take your trans with you, trans wireing harness. Your o2's as well i think since they are heated.
thats what i learned in a couple good threads. looks like im not going that route anymore though
