A 8mm is about the maximum one can use the stock slots and clips. Anything more is just useless anyway.
With LT headers the best way to keep the #5 boot from burning is to get a longer plug wire (perhaps from an old set that is still good) and route it along the stock sheath all the way to the back of the block and then fasten it to the plug. That way the boot is pointing backwards away from the primary and there's plenty of room. All others, route in stock location.

I've been running the summit street&strip 8.5 wires for a about 6k miles with no issues, and I'm running a boot protector on the number 5. zip ties are your friend.
